“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old but on building the new” – Socrates

Now that I am in my “late 60’s” – how can that be?  I don’t know.  I feel like I went to work one morning and when I came home, I was over 60 years old.  Where did the time go?

Now I am closer to 70 than I am to 60 and I am thinking of changing what I do every day.  When I look back over my career, I realize I am blessed.   When my sons were in preschool I was a stay-at-home mom.  When they entered elementary school, I began teaching and did so for a couple of years.  I changed directions and began selling insurance.  I sold employee benefits which allowed me to work with some of the finest, smartest entrepreneurs in our country.  I learned so much about running a business, what worked and didn’t work, and how to increase sales.  I sold that business, I started coaching and consulting.  I had the pleasure of working with great business owners as we built strategies to increase their customer base, to develop the systems to sustain growth, and empowered their management teams to improve the products and the customer experience.  I am still enjoying this work.  I am not quitting, but I am working with fewer clients.

So, now what?

Well, one thing I know I don’t want to do is quit.  I want to stay involved and I want lots of freedom.  So I made a decision. I chose to become involved with Nerium, a network marketing company, and build a team.  “Really?”  You may be saying,  “Those companies don’t work.  So many people fail.”  I said that too.  In fact, I have tried this before and I failed at it.  So what makes this time different?  Well a few things.

First, it’s timing.  The industry as a whole has made a lots of mistakes, promising quick riches with little or no work.  Honestly, we know that isn’t true.  And while a lot of people fail – and not just in this industry, most small business startups fail within the first 5 years and so do most insurance agents and real estate agents.  It isn’t easy to work without a salary, to hear your friends tell you, “no” and to stick with it until your cash flow stabilizes.  It’s hard work, but so rewarding when it does work.  But back to networking marketing.  It does work.

Look at these statistics, and you will see that network marketing is working!

In perspective:

*          The NFL                                  $  9 billion/year industry

            Music                                      $ 16 billion/year industry

            Movie                                     $ 80 billion/year industry

            Network Marketing         $178 billion/year industry

Currently there are 96 million people worldwide involved in network marketing.

16 million Americans are involved at some level.  Many join just to get the products at a discount.  Many join to make an additional $500-$1000 a month.

When surveyed 82% of those involved are happy!

So does it work?

Well, $200 million dollars in commissions are paid out EVERY DAY!  $6 Billion are paid every month.

Second, many people are looking for a plan B, an additional income. This excites me.  I want to work with a team that is excited about new opportunity and dedicated to personal growth.  I am finding this with my Nerium team.

So why am I telling you all of this?  Well for a few reasons.  Of course, as always, I need your support and encouragement.  And I want to let you know that I am winding down my social media.  Not because it isn’t working, but because I am changing focus.  I will still have my personal facebook, Susan DePue but not my business page. I want to thank all of you who have followed and supported any and all of my social sites. I am truly blessed and I hope you will connect with me via my personal page and stay in touch.

I have some BIG goals going forward.  I want to share those with you in my next posting.
